I hit up new-ish wine bar, Birba two weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with this Hayes Valley neighborhood gem. Hayes Valley is not my hood (insert North Beach), so it took a bit of convincing to even get my ass over there. This tiny spot features a unique wine list and a variety of tapas-style small plates.

Go for the wine, the food and complimentary killer entertainment from the owner, Angie.

I am obsessed with the Tepco China and vintage silverware from Spain…

and this table.

In fact, this table is now MY table when I dine at Birba.

The tuna conserva toast is every white girl’s fantasy.

I LITERALLY dream about it.

I’ve been talking about it so much that the Chef (my buddy Telmo) even offered to teach me how to make it.

What I Ate:

Birba: Olives, Roasted Almonds, Spice Roasted Cauliflower, Tuna Conserva Toast, Abondigas al Jerez + Octopus Salad.

What I Wore:
